You can find Soul Altars at various necromancer and warlock lairs around Skyrim. This can only be done when the Shade of the Revenant (purple glow above altar) is active. Grand Soul Gems can be turned into Black Soul Gems on Soul Altars, by casting Soul Trap on the altar. Those veins will no longer give normal gems. Aetherium, Ebony and Heartstone Veins have a small chance to give soul gems, except for black ones. I set this to 100 ores, because aetherium ore grade is very poor and to make a Crest you'll need a lot as it's established a crest is made of perfect Aetherium. You can convert 100 Aetherium Ore into one Aetherium Crest at the Aetherial Forge. They can only be mined with an Ancient Dwarven Pickaxe (which can found in one of the chests of the Aetherial Forge). Aetherium Veins: These veins will now give Aetherium ore when mined. Geode Veins -> Aetherium Veins: These veins will now give Aetherium ore when mined. However, the LE version is no longer supported. For this reason, I decided to port the LE version of my mod myself. If you really need soul gems, buy them in Winterhold.Note: This mod, which I made for LE, was previously ported to SE by someone else, who unfortunately has left the Nexus and removed that port. I use Whiterun as my base for this due to it having 3 different good sources of smithing supplies. You will make a bunch of money back in the process while boosting smithing, enchanting and speechcraft. After you have a bunch of gems, go to Whiterun and buy all of the iron inglots and leather strips you can. Most of the Daedra quests have a bunch of them. Also, I fill a ton of gems up on Draugrs.

If you start shooting all the animals in the game, you can fill gems quick. I buy every empty gem that I can and I walk everywhere. To build enchanting quick, I also build smithing at the same time.

I would rather use that soul on a big enchantment of an item for money. I find with a bow, I really do not need more than 2 seconds since most of my kills are the first shot anyways. When I create a bow with Soul Trap, I normally give it a ton of charges, but very little time it will trap a soul.

You shouldn't need to be re-enchanting your bow after every shot with the Black Star.
